We all get involved

From teaching to non teaching to students, there is such a family
atmosphere, geared towards nurturing academic excellence.

Students

Our greatest asset is our student body which is made up of young boys and girls from over 20 districts in Uganda. On the recent inspection, the inspection team found a learning environment where understanding and respect in a way in which students interact with each other and their teachers. Student’s life in Halcyon varies from one student to another. The activities vary and are engaging as most of the remarkable students we have not only work hard in class but also take part in other activities like sports and athletes, music and drama and many other student based activities. The school has a population of slightly over 2000 students attending their Uganda Certificate and Uganda Advanced Certificate of Education levels.

Student Leadership

At halcyon we aim to develop students’ leadership skills and one of the ways to nurture these skills is through the student council. Each class or stream elects a class representative to the Student Council. From those representatives, a President, Vice President, Treasurer and Secretary are voted in by the whole school. The Student Council meets regularly to plan on the well fare of the other students and how to ensure that school rules and regulations are observed by all. The Student Council gives students opportunities to serve others as well as make an impact on life at school as a whole.
