Who We are

Halcyon High School is a Mixed Day and Boarding Secondary School with “O” and “A” level offering both science and arts subjects that was started in 2001 as a small secondary school with about 100 students. Today it offers a holistic and quality education to over 2000 students from all over Uganda.It is fully registered with ministry of education and sports with a registration number PSS/H/54 and UNEB Centre NO. U1376.

Halcyon means “Days of peace and happiness for the youth”

Halcyon has evolved considerably over the years, undertaking an ambitious programme of expansion and development. It is based at a fully- built campus located 4km from Soroti town along old Mbale road boasting with facilities including IT lab, a library, 6 classroom blocks, 3 science labs, spacious dormitories for boys and girls, and 2 acres of wonderful, green playing fields.
Visitors always acknowledge the warm and vibrant atmosphere at Halcyon; it is a safe haven for students and provides a stimulating environment that inspires the whole school community and fosters happy and motivated students.
The academic giant has made its self a name in academic excellence, upright moral standards/discipline modeled by Christian values and extra-curricular activities.
Academic excellence over years has been achieved through high expectations, strong motivation, constant encouragement and excellent teaching.
